Tilburg University website, viewed April 14, 2023: (Dr. David Peeters; Associate Professor; TSHD: Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences; TSHD: Department of Communication and Cognition; As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Cognition, I make use of immersive virtual reality (VR) technologies to study human linguistic and communicative capacities in rich audiovisual contexts. Specifically, I apply VR in combination with motion tracking, eye tracking, fMRI, and electroencephalography (EEG) to learn more about the neurobiological underpinnings of language and communication in domains such as neuropragmatics, multimodal and non-verbal communication, and multilingualism. My work is currently supported by an NWO Veni grant, the Tilburg University Fund, and a PDI-SSH grant. I am a member of the Tilburg Young Academy.)
